Best Informational Books

Bantam 2003

Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp, MD (book or DVD)

See my blog post on why I LOVE this method.

Windsor Peak Press 2013
Baby Bargains: Secrets to Saving 20% to 50% on baby furniture, gear, clothes, toys, maternity wear and much, much more! (make sure to get the newest version - it is updated very often) - The BEST book for figuring out what to buy/put on your registry. No other book tops this one. The corresponding website rocks too!
Later on when you need to order the next size car seat you can download the newest chapter on car seats (so you don't need to buy a newly updated book for one chapter). What an amazing resource! Same authors also wrote the great books Baby 411 and Toddler 411 (I've not read Toddler 411 but I love Baby 411)!

Woodbine House 2006
The Early Intervention Dictionary: A Multidisciplinary Guide to Terminology by Jeanine G. Coleman
An A-Z reference of terms used in reports about birth difficulties and special needs. If you are a parent/guardian or teacher of a child with an IEP (Individualized Education Program), a child with a syndrome or a child who has a disease, then this is a great reference to have.

F J Roberts Pub 2013
Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron
This book is an amazing resource for everything from foods to making your own "green" cleaning products!
Be aware that while this book has an amazing amount of great information in it, the author is somewhat lax on some food safety issues.  It is always smart to check with your pediatrician before giving new foods to you baby.

Pregnancy Books:
I'd say I'm VERY picky when it comes to these things.  There are millions of books about pregnancy.  I carefully chose about six or so when I was pregnant with my first.  After owning them and using them, here are my absolute top pics!
Pregnancy Do's and Don'ts:
The Smart Woman's
A-Z Pocket
Companion for a Safe and
Sound Pregnancy

Harmony 2006
The Pregnancy Bible:
Your Complete Guide to Pregnancy and
Early Parenthood
by Keith Eddleman (Editor),
